hello next pay cheque?

The Holgaroid.

oh please, oh please, oh please!

{via urbanoutfitters. who fyi is finally delivering to australia. happy days!}

i ♥ florence.

if you've been hiding under a rock for the last year you wouldn't have a clue who this woman is but for the rest of you out there in the blogosphere..
i couldn't resist. Florence and the Machine.
-i'm thinking of naming my first-born after this super rad red-head {no, not 'the machine'} thoughts?

Blame my lack of dosh, blame my lack of saving money more like it but my inner music nerd has been youtubing live gigs since the wake of the AMAZING lineup for Splendour. My summer was sadly festival-less and this just broke my heart in two. break out the violins people!

rachael graham. superstar.

This past wednesday i had the opportunity of catching my friend's very first gig at the local pub.
Rachael was ah-mazing. and not like amazing-she's-my-friend-so-of-course?!
as in ah-mazing. period.
Here she is {on the left} covering 'the chain' by another superstar songstress Ingrid Michaelson.

My sister is currently in the very snowy state of Utah right now all the way across the pacific and my little eyes are strugging to stay open so I don't miss her call. why oh why must there be time zones? it's very inconvenient and doing poor things to my sleeping pattern.

Oh and April, you came around way too fast. a little slower would be nice.

i have lovely friends

one in particular, Chantelle -who left this little note in the back of the car after a long night of rollerblading and cake-eating {can you think of a better way to spend a tuesday night? no. didn't think so.}

It certainly has been a long time since my last update. my days have been filled with George Orwell articles and Arabic vocabulary lately and alas, i haven't been able to post anything. I knew this time would come around but i'm determined to stick it out and keep blogging.
yes siree bob.

hello uni. i'm baaaaack!

Today I....

    • Caught the 7:15am train to school, bypassed my station, went all the way into the city only to come back
to my stop and realise yes. i've missed my bus.
    • Spent 2.5 hours on said transport by the day's end; told by a wee old grandpa to 'not worry, you're beautiful'
all shades of awkward i know but cute, right?
    • Went through one whooole bottle of water before noon.
    • Walked into the wrong lecture.
    • Learnt how to say 'fursa sa'eeda' so now i can parlare di base italiano e arabico!
please excuse my shady italian and arabic, fluent speakers!
    • Caught up with uni pals over hot chocolates.
    • Attentively tried to listen to a Lecturer with a very heavy-accent.
    • Failed and napped the last few minutes of 'do we really need democracy to promote economy?'

yep -after 5 very long months of holidays- i'm back at school.

    The Beatles/Priscilla Ahn.

I'm currently girl-crushing on this lovely lady.

    job well done mr. scorsese.

I took a trip down to the cinemas last night with Vesna & Stephanie to see the new Scorsese flick Shutter Island and despite all the bad reviews and my tendancy to cry/freak out/drop my popcorn in every thriller I loved it! Some may have got more out of it than others, {Stephanie's opinion of the film in it's two hour-or so entirety: 'that was a bit strange'} but the consensus was good all 'round. I have also decided that children + unsettling music really make for an uneasy Kamaia. Give me old people any day but kids give me the creeps, especially the there-but-not-really-there kind. gaaaah.

I'm feeling alot like a Venn diagram lately. y'know what I mean? like your life is sorted into little organised circles? it would seem that whenever one circle is doing good, the other is turning into mush. Maybe i'm being super introspective and perhaps 'growing up' or maybe i've just ate one to many chocolate chip cookies and listened to Sigur ros a little longer than usual.

    Blah.

    dear superbowl

I don't understand the game but boy, do i love your commercial breaks.

Very mushy and all things cutesy but i like it - and my fondness for it may be related to the fact that i google everything.
No 'bing-ing' from this girl i can assure you.
