st. jeromes.

yes i'm slowly making my way through the archives, and yes we're still in february.

i, with an old friend and a sturdy pair of gumboots went off to Laneway festival. i couldn't let my newfound penny-failing-saving ways get the better of me. could i!?

Jenny and JohnnyYeasayer. and a glimpse of Warpaint.

{Beach house with Stornoway on the sidelines}

it was well worth all the bruises and dehydration if i do say so myself.

i may toss the L word around alot but i love, love, LOVE this man. Although Sigur Ros {another love.} are on hiatus i still have Jonsi's tunes to listen to over and over and over and over again.
I suggest you do the same.

hello insomnia!

so far i've:
  • facebooked
  • watched 'the shining', awesome movie to watch before bedtime yes? wrong. thus...
  • 'late night with jimmy fallon' soon followed
  • ate my sister's amazing chocolate/wheat/not quite sure what's in it, slice.
  • fast-forwarded to the end of said movie.
  • somehow found myself here.

fun facts at 2am. heck yes!

nytimes does cheesy too.

Now, i know we are no where near fathers day but i was browsing the nytimes archives today and found this piece on fathers and it was so cute and fun i had to blog about it
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Op-Ed editors asked eight artists for portraits of their fathers along with a talent they haven't but their fathers have acquired.

Chip Kidd - as an engineer, he can juryrig anything

.

Harrison Haynes - He can sing and play the drums at the same time.

i loved them so of course i had to do my own, thanks to my snazzy iphone paint app and my oh so obvious skill on tiny screens so came this masterpiece on the left. haa.

Kamaia: He can tie every knot in the book and is the first to have a first aid kit on hand, he carries one with him. all the time. not kidding.

Lazy's unite!
Someone out there in internet land has made cards for you!*
Hallmark really should take these under consideration,
many, many times have i wanted to wish someone a 'very merry nap'
and this could be just the ticket.

*okay us, whatever!

Letters to crushes

I came across this site dedicated to unrequited love and anonymous letters
a little gag-worthy in parts and others so, so sweet- i've already got my favourites:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

October 24th

red-haired boy in the supermarket,

you’re my favorite. i like that you stock the milk aisle. i like that you look at me a little when i pretend to deliberate between 2% and skimmed.

i like your hands. i sometimes pretend we’re married. and i kiss you when you’re off to work, to stock the milk.

alright.

— green-eyed girl in the supermarket

March 5th

her,

i like it when you ramble.

— him

December 22nd

T,

I was so distracted thinking about you this morning that I accidentally brushed my teeth with face wash. It was worth it.

— K

Beautiful Losers.

Just my luck for this to catch my eye and realise that there was a screening.

In Melbourne.

Last Month.

waaaah!
