job well done mr. scorsese.

I took a trip down to the cinemas last night with Vesna & Stephanie to see the new Scorsese flick Shutter Island and despite all the bad reviews and my tendancy to cry/freak out/drop my popcorn in every thriller I loved it! Some may have got more out of it than others, {Stephanie's opinion of the film in it's two hour-or so entirety: 'that was a bit strange'} but the consensus was good all 'round. I have also decided that children + unsettling music really make for an uneasy Kamaia. Give me old people any day but kids give me the creeps, especially the there-but-not-really-there kind. gaaaah.

hello insomnia!
so far i've:
- facebooked
- watched 'the shining', awesome movie to watch before bedtime yes? wrong. thus...
- 'late night with jimmy fallon' soon followed
- ate my sister's amazing chocolate/wheat/not quite sure what's in it, slice.
- fast-forwarded to the end of said movie.
- somehow found myself here.

twenty-twelve
The other night i caught the film 2012 with Marie and Karolina and let me just say..
JOHN CUSACK IS INVINCIBLE!
and that if i hope to survive this film i must do one or all of the following:
1} Become a geologist/politician/ridiculously rich russian aristocrat
2} Listen to Woody Harrelson; even if he's a crazy forest-trolling loon.
3} Learn how to fly
4} Move to Africa
It's that simple.

dear 'international relations'
aka. AIR109 you may have bored me to death but alas, i'll say it
i miss you.
i miss you.

In other news, i caught 'Capitalism: a love story' with a few of the girls tonight. i'm no expert on US politics
{FUN FACT: i'm taking the class next semester} but I did not roll my eyes once at Mr Moores sarcastic tone or his baggy pants & baseball cap get up.
It might be 'cos i just watched a Bernie Madoff doco not so long ago but this did not make me yawn once. A big achievement since that's all i would do whenever economics would come up at school. or ever really. Or it might be that i had to pat myself on the back for knowing what the economist types were talking about.
Mr Lecturer would be so proud.
On second thoughts, AIR109, i think i can do without you for the next four or so months.

i may be stretching the truth a little
..but I have had this freeakin' flu for what seems like seven years. I can tell this because slowly but surely everything around me now smells like eucalyptus and/or vicks vapor rub.
In other news: 'This is it' was, and I won't be the only one to say this, ah-mazing. I love watching behind-the-scenes docos {E true hollywood story anyone? i'm secretly ashamed to admit that} and i'll be the first to put my hand up and say YES i'm the nerd who watches the making-of featurettes on dvds, so mj was a treat! watching him direct and perform was inspiring to say the least.
so in short. see it.
ps. lots of luck to marie for her english exam today :)

pretty young thing.
Like almost everyone in the world i'm off to see the new mj flick tomorrow. I may even rock out a sequined glove just 'cos. The only letdown {yes i've already got a negative strike against TOMORROW'S activites} is that it's not in 3D you see the particular theatre I work at only just got a 3D-able screen and who wouldn't want to wear those bad boys down below?
not me that's for sure.
